NYC Preschool Seminars / Workshops
Big City Moms – NYC Nursery School Seminar. Includes educational consultant Roxanna Reid from Smart City Kids, Director of The Epiphany Community Nursery School Wendy Levey, and Head of School at the Mandell School Gabriella Rowe, Head of School at the Mandell School. Register at bigcitymoms.com. Held every few months.
New York Family Magazine -All-Star Nursery School Admissions Seminar. - Panel includes the three people listed above, as well as Erica Papir from The Caedmon School, admissions consultant Dana Haddad, Rochelle Miller from Woodside Preschool, and Sharon Huang from Bilingual Buds. Typically held in April. $35/single and $60/couple . Register at newyorkfamily.com.
The Parents League - A not-for-profit organization of families and independent schools that holds preschool workshops and a kindergarten admissions panel with admissions directors. $195 to join ($300 for three years).
NYC Preschool Books
The Manhattan Directory of Private Nursery Schools by Victoria Goldman. Directory of preschools including hours, admissions, facilities, and educational approaches.

ISAAGNY - Independent School Admission Association of Greater New York. Organization of 127 New York private schools. You can search for schools on the site, as well as find information on the admissions timeline and process for these schools.
Nursery University (2008) – This documentary by lawyer/filmmaker Marc Simon, follows six Manhattan families as they navigate the competitive preschool admissions process. View the trailer or read the New York Times article or his post on The Huffington Post.
The Center for Children’s Initiatives (formerly Child Care Inc.) – Has a parent referral service that helps parents find childcare or a preschool.
